We visited a local business to see how they would be for our printing needs. On our first visit, we made a few copies and Matt Hicks was a big help giving us information on their business and prices.

Our second visit for a larger copy order, we met with Julie Arndt, Owner and found them to be reasonable and quick at completing the copy request.

A number of years ago we approached Lowes at 1515 E Brandon Blvd, Valrico FL 33511 for a donation. Lowes has continued to support Electrathon of Tampa Bay/Florida ever since. They have always been there for our organization, and we are grateful for all they do for us during our race seasons.

Our last STEM Electrathon Race of the 2021-2022 Season was held on May 7th. We thank Mulberry HS Electrathon Sponsor Todd Thuma, his students and Administration for hosting our event. We had a new course and fresh payment for the teams to enjoy.

As the teams prepared their cars for the last event of the season others continued to watch the sky and forecasts. We had 11 cars line up for the first race of the day

When the green flag dropped, Kinetic Industries car 99 had an electrical issue and had to return to the pits.

Teams took it easy on the new course for a few laps before they found their line and made the race interesting

Ryno Racings new car hit the pits after 12 laps and did not return. Plant City car 210 had to pit for a flat tire giving the others a chance to catch up in laps. They got the tire replaced and returned to the track.

The weather alerts came in stating rain and possible lightning was on its way. After 50 minutes of racing, the race was called for safety reasons due to the lightning and the start of rain which turned into a downpour.

The fastest lap in the first race was completed by J & S Racing car 128 with a 39.708 lap.

As the lightening and rain continued, Todd took us on a tour of their new school and his classroom/lab that was impressive.

The sun came out and dried most of the course before the second race line up. We had 10 cars line up for the second race as Kinetic Industries car 99 did not return to race.

Ryno Racing car 360 completed 24 laps and called it a day.

The high school teams went at it to see who would finish the day in first place; all three cars gave it their all until Mulberry car 38 started having sounds from their rear wheel and slowed down so they could finish the race.

Tiger Racing car 4, Kinetic Industries car 19 and Silver Bullet car 94 went at it and finished with 1 lap and less time deciding the race results for the Open Class.

Pro EV car 39 put on a great race against Fortuna car 444 until Pro EV had a chain issue and had to pit giving Fortuna a chance to catch up in laps.

We held our STEM Electrathon Event at Plant City High School on Saturday, April 30th. We thank Plant City High School Sponsors David Kocher and Fernando Guillen along with their Administration for hosting our event. We thank the PCHS students that helped Friday afternoon with the setup of the course.

We thank the inspection teams that inspected the cars at this race. David Kocher and Kevin Dye inspected the high school cars, Ken Fiallos and Nicodemus Brothers inspected the open/advanced cars.

As the green flag dropped starting the first race drivers established their line on the track and kept a steady pace. Plant City car 208 had a thumping sound due to their new rims and tires. During the race, teams started having issues with their cars. Kinetic Industries car 99 had their chain issue’s return; after the chain came off the third time they decided to pit and call it a day. Plant City 83 went too fast into turn three and came up on two wheels. Kinetic Industries 19 said they also came up onto two wheels. Fortuna 444 went fast into turn three and wound up turned around and on their side. The driver was not injured but the car had rear wheel issues and front brake/wheel assembly damage, into the pits they were carried.

Teams worked on their cars between races and celebrated Trish’s birthday with a piece of cake

As the teams lined up for the second race, our open class cars called it a day and headed home.

When the green flag dropped starting the second race, teams were determined to go for the overall win. The Fortuna car had a sound coming from their front wheel that sounded like a frog as it went along the track at a much slower pace than their first race, pitting after 11.27 minutes. Pro EV experienced a chain issue and took longer than normal to get back into the race Plant City 210 was quiet and ran exceptionally well until Charlie said something about it and a few laps later they headed to the pits for the day with a rear wheel axle issue (David said thanks Charlie).

Our last STEM Electrathon Event of the 2021-2022 Season will be held on May 7, 2022 at Mulberry High School located at 1 Panther Place, Mulberry, Florida 33860. We will be using the parking lot on the North side of the campus. Bring the entire family for this free fun filled day of STEM Racing.

The awards for this race and the end of year awards will be held at the American Legion Post 4 located at 1375 Ariana Street, Lakeland, Florida 33803. Team members/family must have an RSVP with Trish to attend.

Our next STEM Electrathon Event will be held at Plant City High School located at 1 Raider Place on Saturday, April 30th. Bring the entire family for this free fun filled day of STEM Racing.

We had a great day of STEM Electrathon Racing at Brandon High School. We want to thank Brandon Electrathon Sponsor Tim Ruman and the BHS Administration for hosting our event. There were 14 cars that attended this event.

We thank those that mentored and inspected the cars at this race. Mulberry HS (Todd Thuma) and Titans (Brady Weber) inspected the high school cars. Pro EV (Cliff Rassweiler) and Fortuna (Mike Ralph) inspected the open/advanced cars. Jim Truitt and Charles Harrison inspected the three new build cars. John and Stephen Astfanous returned to our organization with their two new cars. Team Fortuna built a new car since our last race and had it ready to race. We all decided to call it the banana car.

Our first race had 9 open/advanced cars. When the green flag dropped, one of our new Astfanous cars had a slight issue and figured it out as Pro EV 39 was in the third turn. All the cars did well; the new driver in the Kinetic Industries car (Breanna Dye) did very well and appears to be a little competitive.

Teams made some adjustments to their cars during the lunch break and were ready to go for round two of racing.

The open/advanced teams lined up and you could feel the competition in the air. The green flag dropped starting the race. The new Astfanous car had issue with motor sprocket and car sending them to the pits for the day. Titans 242 had new tires on their car and the track ate them up after a total of 1 hour 45 minutes of racing for the day. Kinetic Industries 99 hit the green flag sitting beside the track and Pro EV had the rear tire go out and had to pit to get it changed, giving Fortuna 444 a chance to win race two.
